Yeh Lamhe Yeh pal hum Barson yaad Karenge !

Kanyakumari…..(Cape Comorin).

I visited this place long time back, nearly 8 yrs ….

But there is something special about it which still makes me feel….Go Rekha Go !

In my life, I have seen hundreds of Sunsets, but no sunset was as beautiful n relaxing as it was at Kanyakumari!

Kanyakumari holds a special place in my heart…for its Beautiful Seashore, Colourful sand and yes Vivekananda Rock !

This is the land , a tourist center not only for its Seashore and sunsets but also for Pilgrimage….Meditation ! Being the meeting point of the three sea water viz., Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea, Kanyakumari presents a scenery of natural beauty.

There is age-old temple of virgin goddess , Devi KanyaKumari , who is believed to protect the country. The Diamond nose-ring of this Goddess is famous for its sparkling splendour which is supposed to be visible even from the sea. ( I didn’t check out , simple believed it ! ). The surroundings are very beautiful…

Gandhi Memorial is the place where his ashes were kept for public viewing. The temple designed in Orissa style, is built nicely and is specious.

Swami Vivekananda Rock , one of the best place on earth !

It is on one of the twin rocks jutting out from the sea about 200 metres . Sit here for some time and you’ll feel as if you are not from this world…It’s a different experience !

There is a Meditation center , where one can meditate & feel relaxed n great !.

This memorial has different counters where you can check out for some books n articles etc.

It is serene place which Swamiji had chosen for meditation in 1892 before setting out to America to spread a message of social justice.

Near to the Vivekananda Memorial stands a 133ft statue of Thiruvalluvar , the great Tamil poet, who ages ago written cultural bible of the Tamils.

Best Season:

Throughout the year, but preferably October to March.

Best suited for :

Everybody... Students, Friends , Families !

Hotels :

I don’t remember anything about it, but Vivekananda Ashram guys will surely meet you at Railway stations.

Budget for this Trip :

Depends upon Hotels n Mode of Travel you choose !

Tourist Guides :

You don’t need any Guides to experience beauty of Kanyakumari…

Just collect sufficient information before you go !

Note :

If you don’t have enough time , then go for Vivekananda Rock , it’s splendid !

On my next visit, I’ll surely make it on Full Moon Evening, when I can watch sunset and moonrise simultaneously….(this is what I have heard !)

Bye for now
