I boarded the train @ 12:30 at Madurai station and started to Kanyakumari. [The distance between bus station and railway station in Madurai is too far .so don’t expect them to be nearer].
Reached Nagercoil. From here I boarded a bus outside Railway station to Kanyakumari. It took me 1 hr+ to reach Vivekanandapuram. This is a place to have a decent accommodation @ reasonable fare. My room fare is 60/- [Yeah 60/- not 600/-] it is three bedded room.
Pro’s of Vivekanandapuram:
1.Free bus to Kanyakumari and back.
2.Canteen inside Vivekanandapuram premises at reasonable rates.
3.You’ll see "Vinayaga’ temple, museum, photo museum, and most importantly Sunrise point.
4.From Sunrise Point you can see the ocean and the Rock memorial from here. But if you want to touch the waters you need to wake up early.
5.You’ll feel as if you are in a asharam.
6.You’ve Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam’s ticket booking counter here.
7.You can book bus, train tickets and internet and book store here.
8.Meditation halls, Meditation packages are available to book through the year.
9.Though they are many hoardings seeking donations, no one actually asks for same. But we’ll feel like giving for their service. They really deserve some.

This is the place which makes your trip to Kanyakumari complete. This draws more then 20+ lakh tourists every year.

Kanyakumari temple is just a walk able distance. Men have to remove their shirts and enter the premises. Do not miss this.

CONS:
1.Need to have patience for the time to take tickets and board the ferry - I waited for three hours. [You may skip this inconveince by paying 150/- otherwise is 30/-]
Like other parts in Tamilnadu, language barrier problem. Too much Tamil influence.
Do not expect best food. Just average viand.
We’ve wait again when we’ve return from Rock Memorial. [But this time we’d love to wait as the air and the water beneath will engage you]
I planned this trip while I’ve been to Rameswaram. Though this is not planned, everything went smoothly. The bus frequency from Nagercoil to Madurai is okay and so are the fares and time of journey.
People in Kanyakumari are cooperative unlike other places in Tamilnadu. Bus conductors here give you options for a convenient trip back home. So .enjoy your trip here.
