Okayish to watch

If one looks at the star-cast it looks to be a triangle love-story, while the name suggests this has something to do with family.

Well the movie is of different genre - it’s about family life, an unusual attempt in Bollywood by Shakun Batra. The movie has young blooded star-cast Siddharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan and Alia Bhat.

The story runs in a family which is similar to any of our families - fights, unhappiness, quarrels, cheating, arguments, raising voices - all sorts of things that happen in a family, happens here in the movie. You may start relating some of its scenes to your own family life.

Rishi Kapoor plays a happy and enthusiastic old grandfather - who insist living life his way, drinking, smoking, enjoying life the way he likes and is in love with the Mandakini of Ram Teri Ganga Maili movie.

The two dashing actors in the movie, Siddarth and Fawad plays his grand-sons both having different personalities. One is into literature and both have different attitude. Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak play their parents - and they themselves are going to a crisis in their marital life.

So more or less like all families this family is also going through it’s own bad times to add to this, Alia comes in their life and the twist in the story is that she likes both the brothers. I will leave the audience to go and enjoy the remaining story.

It’s a one-time watch movie, story line has been kept novel and does not really bore at least in the first half and the most important part is the movie relates to real life so most from the audience start relating themselves to the characters or story to their lives. Film is an okay watch, just a little stretched towards the end.

Direction is good, acting is well-notch, all youngsters did a good job, Alia is very natural in her peppy character. Rishi, Ratna and Rajat are veterans and does well, as always.
