If one fine day you are in Bangalore, craving for some good North Indian food then Kapoors Cafe is the place to be. This place is not easy to spot but Google Maps can be trusted to find this cafe. As soon as you enter, you will get a feel of a north Indian dhaba. It is not much for ambiance. Its a small cosy place where emphasis is put on food rather than the seating.
We ordered lassi, masala soda, paneer lababdar, vegetable kolhapuri, dal makhani, ghee phulka, and butter milk.
Lassi came first, it was served in mud kulhad. Which didnt just give it an authentic feel, but a cool one as well. It helped us relax since we had come by bus in the heat. It was very tasty.
Then the masala soda arrived. It was a simple heat buster with masala mixed in cola. It was cold and served it purpose well as we drank it all in a go.
Then mains were served. Ghee roti was topped with a lot of ghee. And so were the vegetables. It added to the taste. Made it yummier! The vegetables were very aptly spiced. Not more not less.
The butter milk was also great. Again served cool in kulhad.
All this added to an amount of 1125! Which is a perfectly reasonable amount for the amount of food we ordered.
There are few other items like paneer paranthas, cheese paranthas which are famous and can be tried.
Well, while everything was great, Im sure many others would be really grateful if tandoori roti and naans could be added to the menu. I usually dont eat phulkas outside of home but had to make an exception to try this place out.
Overall, a satisfying experience with young working crowd and reasonable prices.
Recommendation - Services can be improved and Music can be better to give a better ambience.
