Karbonn A9+:
I decided to buy this phone after lot of consideration on budget and features. After enquiring price of this phone at various stores in Chennai (Saravana Stores (Rs 9400, Gadget world: 9350, etc ) and online (Flipkart - 8999), I settled for a shop called Techno Park in Purasaiwalkam high road for Rs 8650. The sales person also offered me about 250 app backup as a compliment too..
Positives:
It is a decent phone for the price and has been working fine. It is after three weeks of usage I am writing this review.I am satisfied with the touch quality and the screen quality. Though there is no Amoled and the viewing at various angles are not too bad. It is better for the money spent.
The box itself had a screen guard that was built for this phone and this saved from the usage of non-standards, custom cut screen guard.I have installed many apps of various types and are working good. The accelerometer games like Temple run and other racing games are working quiet decently (Though I am not a very serious gamer).
The video player has a lag for certain formats and I had to install an app called "QQ Player" to correct this. Now I am okay with the video playing quality.The Navigation using GPS was very impressive and the talking way finder is also awesome.
I am used to dual sim phones and this too behaves like the standard dual sim phone. So, no complaints about this. I get calls in the second sim when there is data connection on the other sim. This is fine with me.
Negatives:
I am not able to find a Silicon cover for the phone. This is serious because I am finding it difficult to safe guard it.
The camera quality is very poor. Though, we can get very nice still shots with the 5MP camera, any motion will cause the image to be very very bad. I have not tried the video yet and feel that it too will be far below benchmarks.
The back panel (cover) is a perfect plastic and that is a concern and I need to buy some spare ones.
The power switch is fixed on the back panel and I doubt about the longevity of this item. Same for the volume buttons.
Sound quality is not very good, but is manageable.
