One of the worst places where I have had meals in. Disgustingly pathetic table cloth, seats and ambience of the restaurant.
People often confuse this with the famous Karims but this is just another wanna be restaurant using the name to confuse people - neither the food taste nor the service provided by them can match the standards of even a road side dhaba.
We went in for dinner today. The waiters here seem to believe that they are doing us a favour by serving and will give you the looks of "who asked you to come here - now as a result, we will have to work".I ordered the Murgh Ka Shorba - 1x2 and Mutton Seekh Kebab as starters. The waiter takes the order but only when the food is served are we told that they do not do 1x2.Next we asked if the biryani was Awadhi style or Lucknow style, the person went on a different zone to talk about how they make the rice . Finally said its similar to Lucknow style. We ordered Keema Kaleji and Aloo Parantha along side.
The biryani was more of a coloured rice with pieces of mutton in it, the Keema Kaleji had NO KEEMA and the Aloo Parantha was stuffed with dough instead of aloo stuffing.I had asked them to keep aside 2 phirnis lest I may want - the restaurant assumes this means you have bought the phirni and even if you dont want to eat, the waiters will tell you that you HAVE to eat it. Finally I asked for the bill to finish this ordeal but that was not to be. I had initially asked for a bottle of water which I did not use and hence wanted to return it. However, because they had printed the bill(which for some reason could not have an adjustment either hand written or another print taken), could not be returned.
Above all this, the place was swarming with insects, plates were not clean, neither were the spoons ad forks washed properly.Overall, a disgusting place - I curse the thought that I had of even thinking that this was a branch of the famous Karims and they could have a good taste. If you have read this and are hoping that they can improve, please try at your own risk.
