This is good place for a days outing and mild trekking, you can see Monkeys in lots but for Birds you have to be lucky. The place is very good if you want to indulge in forest away from usual City rush. The best way to enjoy is reaching early with a group of friends/ family. Carry your own food stuff as there is no eateries there in forest. There is nothing great to watch for in the fort. but the views from top are good.
I had visited with my family an friends, it took us 3 hrs to reach on top to Fort, we were very slow and were enjoying the trek had multiple halts on the way, as we also had kids with us.
One bad part is there no signboard for the pathway. I was lost while coming down in evening from fort, becoz I had not paid any attention to the path we were taking while going up as I was in group, but while coming down as I was left behind (was busy clicking snaps), so I felt like the path that I am using is not seen while going up, so I got really confused and I was lost for about 30 minutes, I was not sure whether I am going down in the right direction or not. But then luckily after descending further in the rocky way I saw some marks of foot wears and then I saw some people coming in and I got a sigh of relief.
So the lesson learned was never go alone, and make sure that you start descending early max by 2PM from fort so that you reach safely down. And yes, carry a torch and cell phone with charged battery. Last but not the least, never visit this place in rains. The trek is not good during rainy season.
