Well I have been reading for quite sometime now about karrox doing a fraud business etc.
But then many others are doing the same, infact in hyderabad perhaps every institute is doing a fraud business by providing xerox copies of books.
So when I came to know about all this stuff written at MS it was no big shock for me. Except for the fact that I as a IT Manager was of the opinion that Karrox was suppose to be an authorized training center for Cisco and Sun Microsystems as this is what I know, and was of the opinion that only a reputed company was bound to be authorized by such giants of IT, but unfortunately Karrox has turned out to be another one of those cheap institutes.
Yes but what shocked me was something else, something which every person in IT who would come to know this would be shocked about. Well last week I met a person who is a Network Engineer in a leading LAN/WAN solution providing company and had dropped in here (bangalore) for some official work. Since he was here in my company and we were having a casual chat till I came to know he was a former employee of karrox.
Curious after knowing he was from karrox, I asked him about karrox and found he was working at the Corporate Office in bombay. Finally I asked him that I had heard about all stuffs about karrox cheating franchisee and students and he reply he worked in karrox for only a year and had left around a couple of years back and doesnt know much about whats happening in karrox.
But I insisted I have read articles and we sat and I showed him MS and after which we started to discuss on the facts. He told me he was just a instructor and he doesnt know about franchisee’s and hadnt taken any trainings at franchisees only at the corporate office’s training center.
I finally asked him about the CCNA instructor issue whether did the person really failed the instructor exam as mentioned in one article here and I was shocked to what I heard. The CCNA instructor he named as, Debashish had actually failed the exam. But wait this is not over yet. What he told me was that the instructors of karrox get certified by copying in the exams.
I was shocked, how was that possible cause the exams are conducted through online testing. But he told me that karrox itself has a testing center and the instructors are scheduled to give exams during non office hours, either in the nights after the testing center is closed or early morning hours. Further he said that karrox had even video recorded CCNA and Java exams during his tenure and were using that video to note the exam questions and show it to students, so that students could know what questions appear in exams and could clear the exams.
This was a shock, karrox maintaining they have certified instructors and instructors getting certified by copying ? Dont they have enough knowledge to get certified is the big question. The person told me that it was not an issue of knowledge of the instructor, but karrox use to force them give exams without having hands on knowledge as fast as they can so that karrox can launch the exams, and perhaps that is why the CCNA instructor failed the instructor exam of cisco.
After knowing this I wouldnt ever recommend anyone to karrox, who knows perhaps every of their instructor might be certified using the same methods whether CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, Java or whatever. Who can trust them now. They all might have cleared their exams using same methods.
This is a clear indication of what students would be learning through those instructors at karrox. And then there are those intelligent fools. Those who write that 2 people in 2700 corporate have done their course at karrox. Perhaps this is true cause the knowledge given by karrox through their instructors is so bad that only 2 persons are qualified enough to search and land in 1 of the 2700 companies. Perhaps those 2 would be the ones who would have realised how worse a training they got and then upgraded through the extra ordinary skills that an true IT professional would have and would have struggled hard and learnt by reading books and getting certifieds.
Because its damn simple what knowledge you would students get through those instructors who have given the exam by taking books with them in the testing center in the darkness of the night. And also students who get certified through karrox do so by getting to know the real questions that appear in the exams, cause if karrox is recording exams and capturing questions to show it to students then perhaps one can realize how their students are clearing exams and getting certified.
And when those students would be attending interviews, perhaps they fail interviews and only 2 are successful enough among 2700 companies to get a job.
I even joked with the person who I came to know about all this, whether he too did a similar thing in karrox and pat came the reply, he was only an MCSE instructor at karrox and his MCSE certification was completed even before he joined karrox.
I hope students realise the worth of certification through knowledge rather than reading real questions and answers and clearing the exams but I bet they would fail interviews once they have to stand in front of an IT manager and answer the technical questions.
This is what my request is to students who if at all finally read this that if you want a job after certification then please study and have hands on experience rather than doing a course from a company like karrox and screwing up your career.
