I saw this movie because it was an unusual combination, never associated Deepika with Farhan. The plot is nice one, I thoroughly enjoyed playing the guessing game - came very close but a couple of twists just kept me guessing. Farhan is in every frame of the movie - as a fan of farhan I like it, but it was just a bit too much. We got the movie tickets at https://dealivore.com (a steal at Rs 75 for the ticket and snacks worth 200) so I didnt feel that I lost out at the end of the day.
I would recommend watching it once, but dont expect a rock on there... keep your expectation low. There are some memorable one liners ("I have been alone and its highly overrated").
Karthik is an introvert, one of those guys you typically find on the top of an IIT/IIM Class. Bespectacled, unglamorous, serious and doesnt communicate. Shonali is his colleague with a boyfriend. Karthik is so writes some 1378 emails to her to express his love which he doesnt send her... Despite being the workhorse in his office he is not appreciated. The final straw is when he gets in trouble with his boss and is fired....
Then he gets a call which transforms his life. The caller professes that his name is Karthik. Out go the spectacles, in comes a new hairdo, contacts and a suave changed person Karthik gets some handy tips which enables him to win his job back, get a plush corner office, a 4 time raise, win Shonali. The caller asks him to ensure that the secret between them is not revealed to anyone....
Ultimately he does reveal with a few trips to the shrink.The caller torments him and causes Karthik’s downfall. The rest is all about why all this happens etc.The plot gets revealed towards the end. I liked the fact that it did’nt drag anywhere and the tempo of the film was at a fast clip. The phone is really creepy. Deepika has matured and did a great job in the movie. I think she is quickly becoming someone who is turning what was just a promise into real performance!
All in all a good movie.. I guess a part of me feels happy because I got the whole thing for a bargain(dealivore.com) - if I had paid full price I don’t know! Besides I am a fan of Farhan so its a bit hard to be neutral.N Watch it if you are a farhan akthar fan, its definitely better than the other options out there I heard Teen patti is a disaster so well.
