KARZ Reborn as KARZZZZ

Reincarnation-Do you believe in it?   I think we live in this moment and we are only relevant in the circumstances we live in.  If we reborn to a new generation better we take a new life and live life all new.  However, if we have things to finish in this earth?   Projects to finish, dreams to complete, revenge is left….we will never complete our jobs and dreams in this life, but does that important?

Karzzzz is a story of love, betrayal and revenge - reborn!

Ravi Varma (Dino Morea) and Kamini (Urmila Matondkar) is in love.   They decide to be together in wedlock and now flying back to meet Ravi’s family.   The plane is crashed and Ravi is dead in the incident where Kamini is escaped.   25 years gone by and we now meet with Monty (Himesh Reshammiya) who is a great singer but an orphan obliged by contract.   He met Tina (Shweta Kumar) and now they are in love.  Kamini is now Princess Kamini and Monty meet with the Princess.    The story of revenge starts…

The movie is like a 3 compartment box, where the first filled with music, the second with predictable story moments and the third as a speedy and eventful incidents and action.   The music is the first and foremost of attractions of the movie.   Much importance is paid to the music, especially for the instrumental tracks.   When you listen to them in theatre your heart will beat to the tunes of the instruments.    Yes, the music is effective in theatre.

The story is very predictable.   Eventhough I haven’t seen Karz the original, I could easily assume how the film will move forward, thanks to the promos they have given out earlier and similarities with many other films.    The story telling almost stalled in the middle but by climax it took a good pace to finish it as ok.

Satish Kaushik, the director did a good job but the selection of casting could have been better.

Himesh Reshammiya as an actor was quite good.   Despite his drawbacks to be a hero by look he managed to portray the character without much trouble.   Urmila Matondkar was very good, and we cannot expect anything better from her.   Shweta Kumar looks cool and she keeps a nice smile all across the film, but she could not do much when it comes to acting.  Shweta looks too young to be a heroine!    Rest of the cast didn’t have much to do, where Rohini Hattangadi’s role should have handled with much more care.

Music of the film is interesting.   I was thinking that the film will be an all out musical but to my surprise it is well balanced with music and story.  At least 3 tracks stand different and excellent where others were quite ordinary.     Choreographer didn’t try much variation and remain average.

Cinematography was very good, given the beauty of the locations, colourful sets and good lighting - which helped the camera to give good shots one after another.   However, in some shots at least it could have been better.     Editing didn’t help the cinematographer to cover some short comings either.

Overall the movie is an ok to watch kind.   For Himesh fans, the movie is a must watch.  For lovers of music the first half will be very interesting.  For one who wishes to see how the remake works, they too can barge in without doubt.  For all others the movie is optional.  If you are very selective and only looking for exceptional or excellent movies, just forget it.   The movie is an average entertainer which follows a story with some good music, and entertains - though not in a big way.
