Kashid beach is a perfect location for one aspiring for white sand nearest to mumbai.it is about 130 kms from mumbai by road on the konkan coast. one can go by road to alibag(100 kms - mumbai) visit the beach there it has a old fort built in the sea, approach depends upon the tide condition.a few(7)kilometres ahead is nagav beach, my favourite its vast and has dense plantation around the shore, having lunch under the shadows of these pine like trees (’’suru’’ as they say in local language) and the sea breeze is never like before experience, relax here on the soft coir like ground.45 mins drive and you are at kashid beach , few kms ahead you can visit the famous murud-janjira fort , a historic fort built in the sea just amazing.on the way back dont forget to have ’’ice cream soda’’ at a factory in a small village poinad.
