We went to Kashmir in winter season 2 years back and there was a group of South Indians from Bangalore who came to Kashmir to experience the snowfall, . One has to take a flight straight to Srinagar or Halting flight Delhi-Jammu - Srinagar.
We landed at Srinagar and it was very cold. As we drove from airport to Srinagar Hotel the scenic beauty reminded me of Late Shammi Kapoor’s movies.
We stayed 2N in Hotel and 1N in Houseboat(which was a lovely experience). We went in Shakira in Dal Lake. From Srinagar we went to Sonmarg. From Sonmarg we went to Zero Point where it was freezing cold. Best scenic beauty and its a gateway to Ladakh. We came back to Srinagar. Next day we left for Phalgam where we did site seeing at Betab Valley, Charu Village and other places in lot of snowfall. We stayed for 2N. We proceeded to Gulmarg .
On the Ropeway to Khillanmarg and did sledge riding in the it was very cold. We had to buy boots and coat on hire Thereafter he next day for home with sweet memories of the very beautiful place, a real heaven on earth. One must in their lifetime In May month its flower season, Sept. its fruits and Nov to Feb its snow.
