Comparisons with KBCs past:
After watching KBC 3, Ill like to ask one question: Who IS Amitabh Bachchan?! Candidly speaking, Bachchan seems like zilch in front of Mr. Shahrukh Khan. Its not like I dont admire Bachchan.I mean when it comes to rating him as an actor, hands down, hes great.but then according to me, in that arena also srk beats him. Shahrukh literally owns Kaun Banega Crorepati 3. Shahrukhs and Amitabhs mannerisms, on-screen presence, charisma, way of entertaining, style, way of communication with the contestants are complete antitheticals. Amitabh as a host is boring and plain dull whereas Shahrukh is lively, energetic, friendly, charming, extremely funny(me thinks his sense of humor is the best in the world!), highly entertaining, and a great host-cum-dost. It doesnt feel like youre watching a super super super star.infact, it feels like as if Shahrukh is literally your crony and through some way or the other he will try his best to solve your problems or if he cannot do that, he will pray to God only and only for you.
[I know this is a highly debatable topic im opinionating on, but every one has their own views and beliefs and that is why such a site as Mouthshut.com exists.]
Before KBC 3 started(i.e., before 22/1/2007):
Shahrukh believes the key to success is hardwork, and that surely is testified. He did not leave any stones unturned for marketing his show well. He had practiced for KBC 3 with a replica of KBC set built in his office. And another promotional move was the KBC music video conceptualised, directed, choreographed & sung by Ganesh Hegde. This was the first time that Shahrukh was seen in a Hip-Hop style video.
22/1/07- Revival of the Idiot Box Day:
9:00 PM: Clocks stopped ticking.birds stopped chirping.rivers stopped flowing.telephones stopped ringing.people stopped talking.the Earth stopped revolving.everything came to a standstill.because Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, bahut aasan ho gaya tha! And all you had to do to catch him was grab your remote control, switch on your TV and watch Star Plus daily 9-10 PM. It couldnt have got simpler than this, could it?!
3 months mollification on TV:
Indian Television got a new definition. Its existence got a new meaning altogether. It was a blessing in disguise to watch something on TV sans its typical rona-dhona. Reason being King Khan arriving on the small screen. It became futile to watch other programmes and serials on television as SRK-KBC acquired a dominant position soon after its onset. SRK-KBC opened at a TRP of 12.33 on 22nd January 2007. It came down to 10.44 on the second day and further down to 7.36 in episode three, but the final episode of the week picked up again to throw up a TRP of 9.24. Among the metros, Mumbai has garnered the highest viewership with a TRP of 6.3, followed by Delhi at 2.5 and Kolkata at 2. However, KBC has done some good to STAR Plus.
The efficaciousness of SRK-KBC till date:
Well firstly, I still have to fight with my family to watch it. Infact, Im eminently addicted to the show, and to exemplify that- say, Im watching it and someone would tell me that a fire or theft or earthquake or something really disastrous has occured; I would still watch the show till 10 PM and after its end would I enquire about the mishap. So you can imagine how devotedly I watch the show.
And now when the show has been discontinued or so to say, the curtains of its 1st Season have touched the stage, I am very very depressed and Im sure many other fans and viewers are anguished. The shows adieu from Indian Television is highly daunting. I just wish and intensely pray that the second season of Shahrukh Khans Kaun Banega Crorepati actualizes as pronto as possible.
