Kawasaki 4S is no doubt an excellent bike but has poor design and is difficult to maintain. By maintain I mean that you have to really use it carefully so that it looks new. SOmewhat similar to the Maruti 1000. Use it for one year and it looks 5 years old!! The mileage is excellent and I even know of people have 4S averaging 90+ Km/L. But again, mileage doesnt qualify it as a good city bike. I would recommend a 4S to people who have to travel a minimum of 50+ Km daily and who ride the bike not more that 60 Km/H. 4S & Boxer were Bajaj’s pioneer mid-segment products but I would personally suggest Boxer over 4S. According to me the best City Bike would be Bullet and the best village/Town Bike would be the GOOD OLD BAJAJ M80. I would consider M80 to be the most underrated of all vehicles. It is an excellent vehicle with good mileage, superb pickup, solid load capacity and can take the pressure of continious drives.
