Bajaj Avenger Test Ride

Hi all,

Today I, called up the nearest Bajaj dealer to know when Avenger would be available for a test ride. To my surprise they told me that they have it on display and is available for a test ride. So I went along with a friend of mine to the dealer. There was no vehicle on the display.... so I cautiously enter the dealer showroom and there it is standing behind a Pulsar 150 DTSi. So much for the marketing accumen of the dealer....

On enquiry they informed me that the bike has been on this sort of a display for the last 10 days. Wierd!!!!!

Anyway getting to the Bike, for a guy like me who is a bit tight fisted on money spending close to a lac on a bike happens only in a dream (bad one at that). Although I liked the eliminator it was beyond my reach. So, when I heard news of the avenger I was tempted to have a look at it. The on road price is 66, 500 in Chennai. And there is a waiting period of 1+ month.

I did the test ride on the GST highway. I felt very comfortable on the bike.

This is the first time I am riding a cruiser type vehicle therefore when I had to stop at an intersection and start again my foot was searching for the gear and brakes... that, I think needs a bit getting used to otherwise, the ride was cool. The notable point is that inspite of being in a 4th gear there was no knocking when I slowed down to 20 to take a u-turn..... so the alteration of the gear ratios are cool....

well thats all I can tell from a 10 min test ride.

cheers
