I own a Caliber 1999 model. Its still giving me a good riding experience and a mileage of 55-60 kmpl. This is my first bike and during the time of purchase and found this best in its category. Though Splendor was a threat to this bike, I found more stability, road grip and features in Caliber. Moreover, I have a feel of riding a Bullet when I ride Caliber.
The tachometer scores an edge over the splendor’s display unit. However, when it comes to transition of gears, I find the Splendor much smooth. All Bajaj bikes have this problem. Also, the finish of the bike lacks class when compared to Splendor.
Please note, the above line applies to only 1999 model. The newer models of Caliber has much better looks and poses to be more masculine. I have taken this bike for a long ride to Pondicherry from Chennai. Though its not that long a distance, I got the pleasure of riding one of the bikes in the market.
