I have a few tiny warts/skin growth(not sure what it’s called in medical terms) on the side of my neck from childhood. Had gotten it removed around 13-14 years ago(when I was a kid:-)) by a skin specialist. It started growing slightly a couple of years ago and is small in size.
I had visited Kaya Skin Clicnic, Sadashivnagar a month ago and enquired how much I would be charged to get it removed. A doctor checked it and a lady quoted Rs.4, 400 which I felt was high. I decided to get it done when they have a discount/offer going on. When I heard on radio that they are having discount now, I decided to check it out. This time, there was a different doctor who saw the skin growth and a different lady who quoted the cost. To my surprise she quoted Rs. 12, 000. This is almost thrice the price they quoted when they had no discount going on. On bargaining with the lady, she quoted a final price of Rs.8, 800 and told she can’t reduce it further.
Now this was shocking. Who would quote double the price when there is a 20% discount? When I asked the lady who had quoted Rs.4, 400 the 1st time I visited them, she said "I had quoted only for warts last time, but now you have some more skin growth. That’s why the price is more". Yeah right! The skin growth has stopped since a year and it’s been the same since then. I decided to not get it done there. They charged me Rs.300 for consultation which I paid & decided never to return.
