This was my first ever visit to Assam and I will remember it for a long time. the plains of Assam are fresh green and endlessly vast. impress a lot. The place is very clean and people appear to live a much cleaner and comfortable life .
Kaziranga leaves beautiful impression as the reserve offers you a truly great landscape with lots and lots of wild rhinos, wild elephants, buffalos, swamp deers etc. Etc.
The place does not have monkeys it seems ( for there are no fruit trees suitable for monkeys looks like. atleast I did not spot any) .
Brahmputra river crosses the national park. and the area around the river is also full of exotic birds. We spotted a lot of Pelicans there.
. and there are plenty of lakes too in the park that have lots of fish in them.
As per 2006 count there could be 80/90 tigers in the park.in real wild habitat. We just missed it. the jeep coming after us spotted the tiger.
The road from Guwahati to Kaziranga is flanked by endless tea gardens on both sides that makes the journey surreal.
The lodges are superb and there is no clutter whatsoever. nice place to stay for 2/3 days.We stayed in Prashanti. close to central range and enjoyed the stay . the place was comfortable, peaceful and wonderful.
We went into the park wice on an open jeep ( Gypsy from Maruti) with a driver and a gunman ( second time a gunwoman actually. : -) ;
At 5 am in the morning we went into the park riding an elephant.it takes random route and goes close to swamps and lakes. to see the animals more closely.
