Vacuuming Floors Just Got Easier.

I have this fetish with vacuum cleaners. I use them for a while and then get a new one. I give the old ones away or sell them in a yard sale. Why I have this fetish I am not sure but I do. Certainly my husband wishes that I didn’t. But he gets over it and life goes on.

Over time, my health has gone down hill and I look for lightweight vacuums that will clean the dirt and dust out of the carpets. I want a unit that is very easy to use and put back up. I want a unit that will last a long time and that I can depend on. I want a unit that is durable and dependable and travelable. I think that I have found such a unit once again. And this new vacuum that I got for Christmas, compliments from my parents and sister and her husband is just so cool and so fun! Yes, I said fun! It really is. I didn’t think that I would ever use that terminology with a vacuum but I have now and I mean it too!

The Product

Kenmore® Quick Clean™ Bagfree Upright Vacuum is so very cool! It actually adjusts itself from carpets to floors. Yeah it does. It is so cool! I used it for the time and went from the carpet to my kitchen floor and back to my carpet with no problems. There was not an adjustment switch anywhere so I just kept going and to my surprise it adjusted on it’s on! Cool feature uh! It is called “Auto height adjust”. Which I didn’t see that on the box at first but it is there, right on the side of the box in big letters! Stop laughing now and read on!

The unit is a 12.0 amp upright, bagfree cyclonic action that is lightweight and has tools that store on the back of the upright handle. The tools are: Crevice tool, dusting brush and wand. They are all easy to interchange and use to reach those hard to get places like the top of the curtains and corners of the rooms and of course deep down in the sofa’s and chairs.

The cyclone bagfree container is clear and you can see all the dirt going into it just swirling away! And you simple pick up on the release handle to remove it and empty it out into the trashcan. You do have to twist the top of the container to release the top and then twist it back into place. This container is a smoke gray in color. The vacuum is also grays in color. Light gray and dark gray.

The switch that releases the upright handle is found on the bottom left hand side, just beside the back left wheel. You can use your foot to release this switch easy enough.

The on/off switch is found just to the right of that switch, which is also turned on and off by the foot easy enough. Then handle fits nicely in my hand and the unit is so easy to move about. It practically vacuums by itself.

The cord is long enough that I can vacuum my rooms without having to plug and unplug so much. There is a quick release button for the cord. Simply turn the hook either direction and the cord will fall to the floor. And of course as the belt breaks it will have to be replaced. And this is done on the very bottom of the unit where the beater bar is at. (See directions)

There is also a motor protector, which allows the unit to by-pass automatically to provide cool air to the motor in the event there is a clog. Should a clog happen there is a difference in the sound. I know this already because I was vacuuming underneath a window and one of the children had knocked off one of the tie back ties to my curtains and the unit picked it up. I was able to shut the unit off and take the tie back out with no problems and kept on going.

How I Feel

I was very impressed with my new Christmas Gift from my parents and sister. I was also a little disgusted with my old vacuum as well. Because this new unit picked up so much left behind dirt and sand. It was horrifying is what it was! But, I suppose any new vacuum cleaner will do the same. The more they are used the less they work well.

It was easy to put together for hubby. I have no idea how he did it but it did require a screwdriver and a screw that came with the unit. I believe all he had to do was put the handle together and it was ready to go.

I like the lightweight of the unit because I can use it without getting to tired. And I love being able to see the dirt go into the container. And to empty it was just so easy. After I did so I tapped the filter, (which comes with the unit, ) against the trashcan allowing it to empty as well. The filter can be used for a long time before having to replace it and it’s washable so the directions say. There is also another filter that is cleanable as well. This filter is found near the exhaust. Both filters should last up to three years if I take care of them. Now, that’s progress! The paper filter is cleanable with just water and the foam filter (exhaust) is cleanable with warm soapy water. Pretty cool uh!

Please be sure and read the directions that come with the unit for its got some very helpful information in it. Like, how to properly maintain the filters and change them out.

Hubby used it and loved it. I am sure that my kids will love it as well. It’s gray in color and looks really nice beside my new Bissell™ Steam Cleaner

Now, the question hubby had for me was this: “Leah how long do you think you will keep this one?” Laughingly I said: “I have no idea baby, but when I get ready for another new one I will let you know!”

I hope that this has helped in some kind of way.

God Bless!
