I bought a Kent Grand Plus water purifier 10 days back, It was installed next day. The installation engineer drained out water 3 times and after that drinkable water is supposed to come.
The water coming from the Kent purifier has gas(helium or hydrogen) the same gas that is used in gas balloons that fly in sky. I contacted the service center and today service engineer has come but of no use still the same gas smell is coming. Initially he tried to convince us that water is OK, but I asked hime lets ask some neutral person for opinion then the service engineer agreed to complating. Kids straight away refused to take even a sip of this water. The service engineer has taken water sample in the bottle and said that he will update us on Monday(after 2 days). No one in my family is drinking this water, lets see what they come up with after 2 days.
So far experience is bad. I am ordering the mineral water to drink.

Here I am writing again on 17 September 2009 to complete the remaining story. The Kent engineered offered me to replace the UV tube. I insisted on replacing it with brand new machine as it has the problem from the time it is installed. They suggested me to contact the shop where I purchased. I contacted Ankur Electrical(from where I buoght) Sector 18, Noida. With that shop’s influence Kent replaced it with a new machine. But I found that gas smell was coming from the new machine also. Kent asked me to wait for 10 days, keep draining the water and smell will go. Smell reduced but It never went fully. My kids were still not drinking this water. Then they offered me to replace the second machine with a different model "Kent Pride" This model has RO+ UF(not UV). In this they have replaced the UV valve with the UF. UF here means ultra filter. On my asking about the price difference between Grand Plus and Grand Pride, they returned me Rs. 500. This model does not have any smell problem, but some of my friends are telling that UV is to kill germs and UF to filter. If some germs are smaller than the filter they will pass through the filter.
I wanted an RO+ UV model without any problem but I got is RO+ UF.
So I am not satisfied customer. I will advise to go to other vendor, may be Eureka Forbes. These days they are advertising a water purifier with RO & UV.
