Went to Adhirampilly falls on Saturday...
Now I know that beauty cannot be expressed...!
We drove down for about 180 kilometeres from Coimbatore to reach the falls near Chalakudi, Kerala.
And my day was even better with pounding rains from Palakkad to Thrissur. If not for the seat covers, I would have kept the window open and got myself drenched in the downpour :-)
When we took the turning to the falls, the roads became narrow...typical Kerala roads with lots and lots of greenery on the sides. And I got down from the car near a tap on the roadside and washed my face and feet, enjoying the greenery around, feeling the chill of fresh pristine water and relishing the slippery moss at my feet.
Like a small girl I delighted at a commoners luxury..:-)
The sound of creatures chirping, the sight of green leaves bathing and the workers at the trenches waving were a delight so pure and profound...
The glory of the falls was an enchanting sight..a pristine white maiden gloriously falling down between the valleys...!
A romantic would have seen his lover there...in those high valleys, in the milky water flow and in the forests around...
Rocks were sprouting out and I wished I could hop on them as those toads easily did..:-)
A vast expanse of rocks on land and water gurgling on them to eventually fall down on a sharp cliff to reach a calmer land below...
Snaps I could take with my camera but I wonder if it would match with those taken with my minds handycam...!
I wanted to reach the foothills to feel the misty spray but the near desert look of the pathway made us go back..:-( Maybe one day I will go back and feel what I wanted to...!
We then went for lunch and me asked for typical Kerala food...Bijju smilingly said No...and there I was eating rotis and veg cury and drinking water made of a special herb called as thaagasamini..remembered this name with difficulty after Bijju telling me thrice..:-)
He gave me a free packet of this herbs and said it can cool down the body ushnam (heat)..!
The ride back to Coimbatore was filled again with greenery and rains...I took a snap of me sitting in a shed made of woods with the green forest as a back drop...A bearded man came out of his shed and smiled at me getting excited about the log shed..:-)
Back to cool covai and still was seeing the far away hills with fond remembrance...clouds were still sneaking in from the mallu land to the tamil land...but these were without any water...just white clouds filled with laughter and joy with tears left behind in the malabar lands...:-)
