I happened to come across one of the advertisements of Kesari Tours last month.This one was quite different from the others. This advertisement talked about special tours for the senior citizens. Named quite interestingly ’ Second Innings’ the tours caught my attention immediately. I found this concept very unique where tours were only for the older generation. I thought of sending my parents on this tour. What a gift it would be for their anniversary which falls in the month of April!
My wife loved the idea too. What attracted us to it even more was that, there would be celebrities like Amruta Subhash, Salil Kulkarni, Sandeep Khare, Bhargavi Chirmule and more on all the tours. I immediately decided to go find the details. I visited their F C Road Office the next week. The sales person Bhagyashri was good at her job and explained all the details very well. She made us believe that Kesari takes care of each and every thing and so there is no need to worry. I inquired about the food and was relieved to know they had plenty options for vegetarians, as my parents are strictly vegetarian.
The tours I feel are priced little on a higher side, but of course if they are having these famous on- screen stars for accompaniment they are bound to charge so. One more drawback, they have plenty of international tours but hardly any Indian tour. When I enquired about Indian tours, they had only Kashmir which obviously my parents had already been to. Now I had to choose from international destinations like Thailand, Dubai, America, Russia and Europe. Out of all these, Thailand seems to suite my dates and budget, a decent price of around 55000 per person, inclusive of all services. I’m yet to decide as I am a little apprehensive about sending my parents on an international tour. They have never traveled without me or the family anywhere such far. Still in two minds!
