I visited Kewpies long time back and the place makes a kill in terms of ambiance. The serenity and the calm nicely done decor instantly transports you to a traditional south kolkata bong household.
But the food hugely disappoints. The names on the menu with too many confusing names(named after their family members) leaves the customer completely confused. However, we decided on two amish thalas. The only savior of the dish was the aloo jhinge posto and the narkel chingri.
Everything else like the hilsa( burnt and salty beyond limits), the chitol macher muitha was very ordinary. The food was served in terracotta earthenware and we expected the food to ride high on taste which it unfortunately didnt.
