Kentucky Fried chicken used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I would still be eating there except I can no longer have fried foods.
We only have one here locally and it is the only one I have tried. I think as with all chains the food is going to vary slightly depending on who is cooking it and the way the manager of that branch has things done.
I love the original chicken and it does tend to be a bit greasy but still tastes good. It has always been hot and fully cooked.
They make great gravy, buttermilk biscuits and the cole slaw is the best that I have found.
They have many other things on the menu including ribs and corn on the cob. We also have an all you can eat buffet at our branch which makes it less expensive for people with families as small children who do not eat much can have some off the parents plate rather than pay for an extra buffet.
Many times I would bring home the family sized meal. The bad part is that it is very expensive compared to getting the chicken and cooking it yourself.Chicken is one of the less expensive items you can buy and yet they charge a fortune for it. I do not know the exact price now as it has been many years since I was there but it was high then so I am sure it is much higher now.
The place has always been clean and the people friendly. Service was slow but not their fault. It is an extremely busy place so some times you have a waiting line to get your food.
I agree with Jambutty that the potatoes are pasty but pour a glob of gravy over them and they taste better. Instant potatoes never have the taste of real ones no matter where you get them. One good thing is they will stick with you and fill you up.
Today many are health conscience and are avoiding fatty foods but if you are not concerned about that or if you use this place as a once in awhile treat then the fat nor the price is that bad.
