Nothing different

I visited the Rajouri Garden one...though what I experiment must be same all over...

These guys do basically do what they now want to hide - sell fried chicken! All the other fancy additions to menu and the change of name to simple KFC (not an acronym now) changes nothing - you get fried chicken and you get bucket-loads of it.

The super-secret (don’t you love these marketing hypes!) 11 herbs notwithstanding, the thing tastes like, surprise surprise, fried chicken. The "new spicy" with weird flaky appearance, tastes like still more fried chicken.

The  pieces I got were oily as hell. I normally don’t mind oil or sinfully fired junk food (I am a naturally lean 60 Kg guy), but this I thought was odd. They cannot hope to sell that to 50% of all men and 100% of all women. The taste I have already described in exquisite details in the para above. The non-veg thali that tried had a terrible "butter" gravy.

I can understand its popularity in the American/European society - they don’t have much of tradition for elaborate home-cooking for the past 50 yrs and deep-frying something as a concept is unheard of. So "fried chicken" as a concept must be noble.

But nearer home, in Indian sub-continent frying in an integral part of cooking. So, apart from their international brand-pull KFC has nothing to offer.

Take my advice - do sample it once - you cannot afford to not experience this international phenomenon. Then, after that you really want to enjoy, grab a platter of tandoori chicken, smear it with liberal amount of Nimbu, and eat that with onion rings.

Nothing compares to it.
