This is my second review after Raavan and I badly feel the need to write something good about this movie.I am not someone who is too much into movies and hence I watched Khakee this week for the first time on DVD. I do realize that I am late for the party and there have been a good number of reviews written on the movie and I am afraid I cant add much new as everything about the movie has been praised. The movie is a racy entertainer and has all the ingredients for a successful movie. The story is about 5 sincere cops who have been entrusted to help a terrorist named Ansari from Chandangarh to Mumbai.
The story looks quite simple however the story telling is what makes the movie wonderful and we do have a great deal of twists and turns in the plot.In the acting department everyone including the constables have acted really well.I cant recall anyone acting badly.Amitabh is great but the best actor in the movie is Ajay Devgan who has done a marvelous job. The three heroes Akshay, Amitabh and Tushar are at the receiving end all the time till the climax from the villains. The cinematography, script. dialogues are too good. What has not been praised much is the music and hence I would like to elaborate on that area, everything else has been praised at length about this movie. The background score of the movie is simply mind blowing. Reviewers seem to have only focused on the songs part of the movie.
The songs in my opinion could have been done away with even though they are quite good and do not take away the pace of the movie. Since I watched in a DVD I just skipped the songs and I dont like songs in racy movies . Its better to listen to songs on IPOD or a music system not a movie! thats my opinion. The music is my Ram Sampath and I havent heard much about him before. Please bear in mind that I have a low IQ as far as movies are actors are concerned. I loved the BGM so much that I googled Ram Sampath to find that he has very few movies to his credit and is more of an AD jingle guy.The chase scenes in the market, railway station scene and GPO scene get great impact due to the BGM.Listen to the GM carefully when the chased happens on the market when Akshay is on top of the van its too good. Also the chase scene in the railway station the music starts slowly and then gathers pace.First the BGM is at 1x speed then it gets to 2x and then 3x speed, I dont know how much others enjoyed it but the music was truly good. Please note I am not related to or endorsing Ram Sampat but I feel a good effort must get its due. especially when every other aspect has been praised.Overall I must say I enjoyed every aspect of the movie and absolutely nothing to blame.Yes I do have a few stuff to blame but I choose to ignore the weak points, even Avatar has flaws if you observe carefully.A must watch movie for everyone
