Not to be missed!

There are many directors these days who are bringing more new music directors into Bollywood ? especially Ram Gopal Verma. This time, Raj Kumar Santoshi comes up with the idea. Thank god- now I hope every other B grade movie doesn?t ask Anu Malik to make some songs. I mean if Anu Malik composes 40 albums/year, only 10 will be good. But anyways, this is a review on Khakee?s album.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Khakee is a great album for a debutante music director. 3-4 songs in this movie are really good if you listen actually grab your attention towards this movie. And yet those 3-4 songs immediately compel you to buy the CD/tape. The other songs are either mediocre or repeated. And also wonders why the music director repeated one song THRICE, and made a remix out of two fast songs, although that is a recent trend.
MUSIC DIRECTOR: Ram Sampat
The album starts of with a very mediocre song- Wada Raha It isn?t anything great and yet isn?t all that bad.
Singers: Arnab Chakravorty, Shreya Goshal, Udit Narayan
This song as I said is very mediocre and is repeated thrice. Each male singer sings it once and Sonu Nigam sings solo in the sad version. The non-sad version starts off with Arnab Chakravorty going Wada Raha slowly. He?s a new singer, and is pretty good. He sounds like Shaan and Sonu Nigam mixed, But he?s nice. Udit Narayan is good as usual, but this is not one of his great songs, and he makes the song sound a bit more melodious. Shreya Goshal is good and again, this is not one of her great songs. She?s O.K. Overall, you won?t miss anything if you skip the song, but you can hear it once since it?s repeated.
The second song IS A COMPLETE CHANGE IN THE MOOD.
Aisa Jadoo
Singer: Sunidhi Chauhan
This is brilliant, mega fast, and in one word, a bomb of song sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. This is one of my 3 favourite songs from the movie. Picturized on Lara Dutta, this song has also been choreographed nicely and Lara Dutta dances really well. Sunidhi Chauhan as usual, after Darna Mana Hai, Joh Dar Gaya Who Mar Gaya, and Bhoot hoon main from last year, this is the best song she sung this year. This album?s sound is very techno, but is all the same good and blends very well. The best part about this song is when Sunidhi Chauhan sings Aisa Hai Koi Dilwala Re. This song is definitely up the charts.
The third song again as a romantic number and is way better than Wada Raha- Teri Bahon Mein Hum.
Singers: Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal
This song?s tune is very catchy. It?s very hummable. Sonu Nigam and SHreya Goshal do an excellent job at making this song better. It?s a cute song with a soft tune. It begins with a flute which somehow exactly the same as the beginning of a flute solo in A.R. Rahman?s tamil album, Kanathill Muthhamital. Anyways, the drums in the song are really good. It gives a really good rhythm to the song. Sonu nigam again proved that he has a very good voice. Shreya Goshal also responds very well when she begins singing in the 1st middle verse. But they really brought up the song then what it could have been.
The fouth song is again one of my favourite songs from the album- Dil Dooba
Singers: Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal
Once again, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Goshal come together to prove that they?re a great pair. This song starts of with the chorus going Heleleleao. And then a trumpets begins to play the tune of the song. This song is very fast, foot-tapping and fun. Shreya Goshal is really good but Sonu Nigam is actually carries the song since he has to sing the main tune but they both were really good. You have to listen to this song to actually know how good it is. It?s sounds like a mixture of western music and tunes of some old songs but is really good.
The fifth song is-Wada Raha(Sad Version) and is again a pretty mediocre song.
Singer: Sonu Nigam.
This song starts with a violin and continues all the way along with Sonu Nigam. This song is O.K., pretty much like the normal version and Sonu Nigam is also good here, but sounds like he?s a stressing when he starts the chorus. However, he?s really good in the verses. The violin is also good. Overall, this song is O.K. and not that great.
The sixth song is a remix of- Dil Dooba and is nothing compared to the original song.
Singers: Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal
Most remixes are thought to have more enthusiasm than the original song, but here it?s completely different. Suprisingly, Dill Dooba(Remix Version) doesn?t have as much as pizzazz and zest as the original version. Also, the English lyrics put in between are annoying. The Punjabi type instrument is good. Sonu Nigam and SHreya Goshal?s voice seemed shunned down. You?d rather hear the original version any time.
The next song is very situational- Mere Maula but is a brilliant song.
Singers: Richa Sharma, Kailash Kher
This song sung is sung so well by Richa Sharma. She really puts mood in the song. Kailash Kher doesn?t really have much to do. This song starts of with a chorus singing something and then Richa Sharama strats. The part where she sings Mera Maula Karam ph Karam sounds familiar form some old song, but not sure. Overall, this song is a must-here!
After the Udit Narayan version of Wada Raha comes the ninth song of the album, also one of my favs- Uppar wale
Singers: Sonu Nigam, Sukhwinder Singh, Kunal
This song is again one of the songs on the promos which made me further instigated me to buy the CD just listening to the tune and Sonu Nigam?s one line. The song starts with the chorus going Jab tak rahoun? and then Sukhwinder Singh and Kunal starting the song with SOnu NIgam joining them in the last line and further. This osng was great and is also foot-tapping. It is shown how a police-man feels while going on duty and doing his job. It?s really good and very, very well sung by Kunal, Sukhwinder, and Sonu NIgam.
The next song is again a remix of- Aisa Jadoo.
Singer: Sunidhi Chauhan
This remix is way, way, wayyyyy better that Dil Dooba?s. Howver, oce agin the remix doen?t have that much josh than the original version. I love the beginning in this song, and the guitar at the end of each verse. But the way they cut of the best part-Aisa hai Koi Dilwala re, lost the enthusiasm. This song is still good and is worth listening too especially if you like the guitar. It?s great.
This album is one of the best albums this year other tha a few more, especially for a debutante in music. It has fast songs, slow songs, and some that make you go, ?Hey, have I heard that somewhere?? But overall, this album should not be missed.
