had very common story of a cop after a dangerous criminal but what made this movie so special about this movie was its Performances right from Sanjay Dutt to Anupam kher ! And who can forget the Sensation that the song “Choli ke peeche kya hai?”!
PLOT –
Ballu balram (Sanjay dutt) is heinous criminal who is caught in smuggling and various other crimes , Ram (Jackie shroff) a very loyal police-men tries to his level best to know Ballu’s boss name , but all his attempts go in vain as Ballu is adamant in not letting out the name of his boss . !
One fine day , Ballu runs out of the jail and Ram is blamed by the press and people for Ballu’s escape. To save Ram’s dignity And honour his love Ganga (Madhuri dixit) set out on a task to catch Ballu , **by luring him by her beauty .!
She pretends to be a dancer infront of Ballu and Ballu instantly gets attracted to Ganga .Ganga joins Ballu’s gang just to get him caught by the police , she makes several attempts in informing the police about their locations .
But when ballu knows her real identity , he uses her as his shield and slowly starts falling in love, Ganga’s love was slowly changing Ballu in a good man , but when he later comes to know that she doesn’t love him , his anger outrages and he once again transforms into his bad self !!
Rakhee plays Ballu’s mother who is waiting for her son to return !

1.Acting – The movie is filled with fine performances by – Sanjay dutt and Madhuri . Jackie is plain ok !! The scenes between Sajay dutt and madhuri in their exile is jus amazing !!The movie truly belong to Sanjay dutt
2.Music – It is one of the main highlights of the movie . The movie had the sensational number - “ Choli ke peeche kya hai ? “ which rocked the entire nation in 1993 . The song was banned from cassettes , CD AND the movie due to its double meaning wordings but later it was added due to public demand! Other tracks like – Palki main hokar savar and Ajja sajjan were great too !! However the song “Der se anna” was **least likely amogst the song !!
3.Direction – I consider this Subash Ghai’s one of the best movie amongst he’s made . He has made a simple basic plot so entertaining will all Bollwood masala that one can watch this movie again and again !!
4.Editing – The editing of the movie is a bit weak , the scEnes are sequenced properly however they could have trimmed a few songs here n there!!
Overall Khalnayak is a timeless classic And is Sanjay Dutt’s performance till date ! I give it 4/5 !!
