A stereotype breaker movie

Few movies in last year were based on subjects which are not talked about in tge indian society. Vikki Doner, Poster boys, Badhai ho and many more examples are there and the movie Khandani Shafakhana is also of the same type. The movie touches the topic of venereal diseases.

Plot is of Hoshiyarpur, Punjab where Babita Bedi( Sonakshi Sinha) lives who is a medical representative. After the death of her father the family's responsibility is on her. She also have a elder brother Bhushit( Varun Sharma) . Now along with the family responsibility, Babita also had to deal with the loan which was taken by her father for her marriage from her uncle. Now one day news arrives that her uncle who was a venereal disease specialist was murdered by a patient. Now according to his will, all his property will go to Babita but only if she runs his "Shafakhana"for six months.

Now acting wise, movie is totally dependent on Sonakshi and she too have given one of her best performance. Varun Sharma also did a decent job but his role could have been a little longer. Priyanshu Jora have done nice and Annu Kapoor is as always perfect in his role.

Music is good all around. The songs as well as background music helps to enhance the experience of the movie watching. Apart from singing, Badshah have acted too.

Now coming to cinematography, director Shilpi Dasgupta must be appreciated for coming up with such a topic in her debut movie. Her direction is good and without any flaws but editing could have been better and writing is one of the few departments in which the movie disappoints.

Altogether the movie should be wathed once for its topic and of course for Sonakshi Sinha's acting.
