Khel is sunil shetty’s 1st movie as a producer and he has spared no expense to make it look good.
the movie is about 2 friends shetty ( a self made business tycoon ) and jadeja ( a happy go lucky , very helpful) sort of a character. they are friends from childhood but manage to fall for the same girl , celina jaitley. celina prefers ajay to sunil, which leaves sunil angry. he gets a chance to get even with jadeja when he accidently kills a girl whom he knows and then sunil buys out the prosecution and defence lawyers and the cops and sends jadeja to jail. after that he cosies up to celina and gets ready to marry her.....but then ....enter sunny deol.
sunny is a cop who had run in jadega years ago and feels something wrong about jadejas conviction. the rest of the movie is how sunny exposes sunils game.
The performances - sunny deol as always has the best lines and a role that plays to the gallery and he is a master at that. he is good( controlled ).
sunil shetty in his movie has naturally given himself the meatiest role and he too is good .
jadeja makes a decent debut if you get over his monotonous dialouge delivery.
celina jaitley - better get back to modelling as her career will be over quickly if this is what she can act like. she is good in songs only.period.
the rest of the cast is adequate .
The music- is so-so . 2 songs are pleasant , the rest forgettable.
The backgroun score is good, the editing crisp, the pace never flags.
The director is good for a first movie.
but the movie has its weak points . sunil shettys character is a business tycoon but he behaves and works like a underworld don. the soppy grandma is still around for the same old scenes from many other movies.
But overall its a GOOD TIME PASS movie. take your pop corn and pepsi and enjoy the movie.
