Better stay away.
- Mechanics are very lazy and they want to change whole assembly if any sparepart is not working or failed. In my case. I gave my bike on friday for full paid service like filter clearning, oil change etc., They billed around1650/- quoting so many parts. I thought they might have changed for my vehicle’s betterment only and paid without asking questions. I started using on monday to office and noticed noise coming from speedometer area which is more and more after every 100mt distance travelled. It was really painful to have these kind of weird noises after paying 1650/- for such poor service. I took back the vehicle next day and told them about this noise which was not there before that service. They took it as repeat job and I went to office, expecting my bike will be ready by evening and I don’t need to pay any more. Afternoon 2.30pm, I got a call from khivraj bajaj and I thought initially my vehicle is ready so they’re going to tell me come and collect your bike.
Then I realized, it was actually from a khivraj mechanic and he is saying 2200/- to be paid for replacing whole speedometer assembly. It was very shocking and he is arguing that they will correct only if I pay. I said i’ll come to your office and settle. That evening I went to khivraj bajaj service center worrying what disaster is on the way. Then I met that mechanic, who is simply saying speedometer is faulty, so we have to change whole assembly that costs 2200/- which has to be brought from shivaji nagar area only as they don’t have stock. I got furious and told them, friday I paid 1650/- for the service and again you are asking 2200/- for the noise removal which was not htere earlier. Mechanic took me to a so-called superviser(nagaraj or someone), and this superviser without listening anything simply told that i’ve to bear the cost and should pay 2200/- for repair if I want. It was really paining by that time, and I was evaluating various options or arguments. Then I saw another superviser(Naik) for my luck, and I discussed with him my case. He talked to mechanic, and told why don’t you change only speedometer without changing whole assembly.(only speedometer would cost 500/-). Mechanic keeps arguing that bike needs full assembly change and speedometer of that model does not come( my model - pulsar 150cc 2006 model). Then 2nd superviser (naik) took me to their spare parts counter along with mechanic and asked them, ’don’t you have speedo meter for pulsar 150cc 2006 model?’ That guy at counter told that they have and are available even now. This mechanic then accepted that he can change the speedometer only after this 2nd superviser(naik)’s intervention. What if I am complacent enough to believe kak and bull stories of mechanic and 1st superviser? Should I take the pain of paying 1700/- more in 2 days after paying 1600/- for their so-called paid service?
Next day I went to billing counter to collect my gate pass and pay the amount. I already had one Annual Maintenance Package from Khivaraj for 200/- and they should give some 2.5-5% discount on the spare parts. Billing guy does not care about that AMC and generated full bill saying, we don’t give discount on all and when I asked for warranty of this speedo meter, he told "No warranty" very bluntly. Even with more arrogance, i’m telling you no warranty. So don’t expect.
By that I totally understood the working style of mechanics, supervisers, billing desk representatives in khivaraj bajaj and wanted to get out as soon as possible and never come back here. I paid full 500+some taxes and charges= 560/- and got out and took my bike. It was not making any noise by now and speedo meter is moving. I felt happy that I could save 1700/- by simply taking the case to another person. But this is not the end of great story for khivaraj service center.
After 2kms I noticed some strange behaviour of speedometer. It is actually showing double the bike speed. If I go at 40kmph, it is showing 80kmph, and if 50, reading is 100kmph. Now i’m totally furious. I’m taking my bike to them today and will see how much is there for me.
I strongly suggest, stay away from these lazy people. And if you must go there, be careful with their attitude and try to reduce your losses. Otherwise they may change whole wheel assembly if tyre is worn and you have to buy new bike if handle is skewed.
