Well as tagged, this is a movie of a royal misfit!, What a perfect family they were, Rajas-Ranis-Prince and then a Punjabi Bong, And Sonam Kapoor shines in the tailor-made role planned for her by her father Anil Kapoor, who is also the co-producer of the movie, this latest product from Disneys is a good clean family entertainer, you can pass time this weekend with, but if youre a couple.
Studded with 5 songs, this movie is a story of a Physiotherapist Dr.Mili Chakraborty(Sonam Kapoor), who is a physiotherapist of IPL teams esp, KKR is shown, got a calling from a Rajasthani royal family. The aging Raja Shekhar(Aamir Raza Hussain) needs a physiotherapist since hes on wheelchair from last 10 years when he met with an accident and lost his eldest son, and he dont want to get cured, but who can escape the funky "jo dil pe vo zabaa pe" Dilli girl mili. not even the charming and cute prince Vikram Rathore(Fawad Khan), but hes engaged to Kiara(Aditi Rao Hyadri), so what, she the heroine and hes the hero so load kyu lene ka! But discipline the major issue in this royal family, everything needs to be done perfectly, in the way the Rani Sahiba Nirmala Devi(Ratna Pathak Shah, Roshes Momma) wants. But Mili has a punjabi mother(who obviously but none other than!) Manju(Kirron Kher, the branded Punjabi mother in bollywood), so this misfit is going to fit in the royal family.
And to take us through we have a very nice, funny innovative song "Maa ka Phone" to start with, Sneha Khanwalkar(the famous off-the-beat-new-genex music director, if you dont know then you havent seen GOW) is a genious, this one was a good track to start the mood with. Then we have 1 heart-throb songEngine ki seeti inspired from famous Ila Aruns song, sets the tone of movie, we also have a beautiful songPreet sung beautifully by Jasleen, and beautiful lyrics and music too, this one was supposed to be the sad love song. End credits are supported by as-usual Honey Singh rap, Party to abhi shuru hui hai, does he forgot that party khatam, since movie khatam paisa hajam!
This movie is a typical any-day romantic Prince-Princess-Royal family-Palaces type Disney movie, only difference is this is a Bollywood product, directed by Shashanka Ghosh(Quick Gum Murugun director), direction is good, and he chooses a well-made yesteryear classic of same name, he needs to do justice to Rekhas role, and to some point hes done good in that department, and the best thing about the movie is Sonam Kapoor-Fawad Khans pairing, their chemistry is good, and both goes well with the roles, Fawad looks typically a Prince with all the etiquettes, and damn he looks cute(Dont take it otherwise!, I am giving ideas to girls reading this review), and he knows acting for sure, Sonam, on the other hand, is not an actor, since I myself criticize her inPlayers, but shes good inAisha, so here as well. You give a bad actor a role which theyre in their real life and BOOM! you get a good performance, you give SRKDon(well he;s not a bad actor though!), Tushar KapoorGolmaal, so you give SonamAisha andKhoobsurat, though Abhishek Bachchan cannot be helped(I dont know how Guru or Yuva happens!)
The story is normal, so no points on there, and this is definitely not for bachelors only, well if a boy and girl(both bachelors!) watch together, they can enjoy or for a girl, a boy can enjoy the movie, and only boys groups avoid, only girls group can go, depending on their smartness or AWWWness! Movie is 2 hrs 15 min long, and it can get you pass your time, though sometimes looks boring, could be tighten a bit, a clean entertainer it is, (God they even shows the kiss scene like old movies, no not that old, some flowers or trees coming when kiss happens, but like, the camera is at the back of actors, and not in the middle of scene, so we cant confirm if theyve kissed or not), well, Emran Hashmi will surely die from shame! One-time watch it is for sure, go with your wife of GF/BF, youll enjoy, I rate 3/5.
