A shift from the Paradigm

Right, after a couple of disappointing movies like KANK, Rocky and Naksha. I finally decided to take another risk and watch a movie with NO superstars. It was a refreshing change and a very well scripted movie. For a change in a movie the PLOT was the bonding force. It makes you laugh, feel upset and actually nod your head and say "That happens". The story is based firmly on the reality of a middle class person, how he works all his life and invests his money in the safest bet around land. The story only starts once he realises that his plot has been encroached on by a powerful land broker. The middle class person is Anupam Kher, he has two contrasting sons Ranvir and Dabbas. Ranvir was the funniest of the lot, he made me laugh the moment he opened his mouth, especially because his punjabi accent did not sound put on at all. It was really funny. The plot is very very impressive and for a change a Hindi movie actually holds your attention and you want to know what happens next. Since I never reveal the plot of any movie I review what I will do is go ahead and comment on the acting of all the actors involved.

Anupam Kher - He has matured as an actor and he has a flair for comedy, he can make you cry, laugh and feel despair all in the same scene. It is a quality that is very rarely seen in actors and I think no one could have portrayed Khosla better. He may not be the shinning light of the movie but he does a very good job.

Ranvir- Well once a DJ and now a budding actor, he has a definate screen presence no one can deny that. I like him in Pyar kay side effects and I liked him in Khosla ka Ghosla. He plays the good for nothing black sheep of the family very well. I loved the way his hindi and english was tipped with a punjabi accent obviously he has taken his role rather seriously.

Parvin Dabbas- The mature, successful brother and the good son. He has a done a good job and he makes you say aww when he proposes to Tara Sharma. It was the clinching scene in the movie. I loved the scene and it was the dash of comedy that made the movie a complete family movie. Parvin has done a decent job and since his role was one that demanded a little less flair I think it was a good job.

Tara Sharma- She is cute, witty and she plays the love stricken girl brilliantly. There are scenes in the movie that make you realise how dumb men can be sometimes. Tara is the love interest of Parvin and she does a good job. She loves him and when he finally proposes she acts the scene out wonderfully. The scene of the movie in terms of romance.

Boman Irani- He played the wicked land brocker brilliantly, he already gave us a glimpse of his capabilities in Lagay Raho Munnahbhai and he returns to give us a bigger dose of the same. He has done a good job although after LRMB I felt the role was a little repetitive and Boman should refrain from any future roles of the same kind.

Okay so in a nutshell Khosla ka Ghosla is a worth a watch, with anyone you want to watch it with. Family, friends, spouse, girl friend. A shift from the genre based movies out there. The script is what makes the movie a winner. As always no revealing the plot.
