Khyber has opened a branch of their flagship Kala Ghoda restaurant in Khar. It is tucked away in a lane behind Ramee Guestline/Irish pub/Mah Jong on SV Road. It honestly serves the best North Indian food in the suburbs. We have tried almost all the other so-calledgreat Indian restaurants in the Khar/Bandra area(and there is no dearth of these tom-tomming restaurants), but keep returning here when we want Quality Indian Food.
The interiors are well done and the lighting is also just right - not too dim and not too bright. Sure, it is a bit pricey, but it is worth every paisa. All the dishes that we have tried there are very good. My favs are the mutton Kalimirch Kebab and the mutton raan and the chicken rara. Their rotis are also very good. They also serve a mocktail called Ginger Fizz which is a staple for me there.
Their desserts could be better, but we just pop into Sweet Bengal on Ambedkar Road to fulfill that desire. Our only fear is that they may have to close it down if they dont get too many people going there. They dont believe in advertising and depend on word of mouth. It is good family as well as a business outings.
They have recently started a home delivery service as well, though that actually is not a very good option. Cos at least for me - if Im paying those prices, I may as well enjoy the ambience as well. Happy Eating:)
