Dhoom 2 was a big shock - Sanjay Gadhvi got immense confidence with the success of Dhoom 1 that any crap he make - there will be audience to applaud. People came to see Hritik, Aishwarya and Abhishek --- also the masala publicity regarding the lip to lip scene of Hritik and Aishwarya added more fire.
Now with Kidnap the biggest publicity stunt was regarding Minishha appearing in Bikni, how she managed to reduce weight -
Friends - it is a nauseating experience. Whether the publicity stunts have gone to such an extent that the craftsmanship of a director is gone with the wind???? Kidnap is another movie which you can forget just like Dhoom 2.
Plot
Dr Mallika (Vidya Malvade) asks her daughter Sonia (Minissha Lamba) about her wish ts for her 18th birthday, Sonia tells her she wants to meet her dad, Vikrant Raina (Sanjay Dutt). TWell we can assume that they were separated and finally after some nastey exchange of words the daughter walks out.
Later on the mom was shocked to know that her daughter is kidnapped. The kidnapper, Kabir (Imran Khan), has only one demand -- he will negotiate with nobody but Sonia’s father.
And the separated couple got a chance to unite - thanks to the kidnapper.
Kabir tells him they are going to play a game - just the two of them. Vikrant has to play by the rules set by Kabir and he has to play alone. He has to play to save his daughter. If he even utters the word ’police’, it will be bye-bye for Sonia!
Afterwards what happens --- well, in the interest of the film makers (some one would have invested money to make the crap) I am stopping here. Watch the movie at your risk.
The script of the movie is the biggest villain where in the script writer would have assumed audience having no brain at all!
Also, the director and script writer opens the card before the audience in the beginning itself. Well, the movie has got a hilarious beginning but then onwards the progress was quite bad.
Imran’s clues for Sanjaydutt, the first in a train and later at an engagement ceremony, make no sense. Later, Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Malvade’s entry in the jail is bizarre. All this really mock the audience in the best possible manner.
Later, when Sanjay Dutt refuses to take Imran’s call, Imran lands up at his house. Do you think any kidnapper with minimum commonsense will venture to all this?The sympathetic protray of the kidnapper’s child hood also leaves us with zero impact. The same goes for the climax. The shootout at the New Year party is ridiculous.
I should say - this is one of the most pathetic script which I have seen so far this year. Pritam’s music is another sore point. Barring the Mit Jaaye track, the remaining songs are lacklustre.
Ofcourse - certain complements - Imran proved to be more promising. Sanjay’s attitude to give way to youngsters even being a super star is also welcome. Camera work is also astonishing.Minishha does not look like an 18 year old girl from any angle.
All in all ---- quite disappointing. I dont recommend any movie that mocks audience commonsense!
