Correct me if i’m wrong, but I dont remember ever seeing the times of india giving any movie 5 stars. it did that the sunday after the release of kill bill volume 1, broke all traditions. this aberration was not a typo, but was the fact.
i saw the movie on saturday night (just one day after its release). it was the perfect setting. I had some cash, and was all geared up for it. I had read the script of the movie in august! I was enamored! I had waited for the big release in december. I certainly wasn’t let down. the only down side (if u really want to look for one) was that we’ll have to wait for the second part in feb/march.
the movie, was a quintin tarantino special. the story is something totally new, nothing like this has ever been tried before, but then which of his movies hasn’t been original! the story, and the spell-binding acting by uma thurman, keeps one glued to the seat. I refused to leave the hall even during the interval! :)
The near perfect direction, and the amazing thought that has been put into making this movie deserves applause! Ever scene holds the viewers attention and takes him/her on the journey of a woman looking for revenge. It’s not ur run-of-the-mill action movie and one can read tarantino’s thoughts with every scene.
definitely do watch the movie, but mind u...it’s not for the weak at heart. be ready for a blood fest! :)
