I did a big mistake by taking my wife to KIMS hospital trivandrum when she was expecting for the first time.
During her first three months she has been consulting a doctor in a UK based hospital in bangalore and the experience was very good and we were really impressed. Due to some personal reasons, on the fourth month we decided to move back to kerala and has been looking for a good hospital in Trivandrum.
It has been a surprise for me since I couldnt find any single user review for any of the hospitals in trivandrum in the internet but could see many user reviews for hospitals in cochin. So I checked about the hospital by other means and heard that it is good in facilities and there are some really experienced doctors. I called the hospital and the executive informed me about their expertise and blah blah blah.
Finally we decided upon the hospital and made our first visit where I accompanied my wife. What to say the customer care experience / patient care experience was pathetic. The receptionist was very harsh in her tone and the nurse in charge treated us as if she has been paying for our consultation. We met the gyneac doctor and she is the most senior doctor in the hospital. She had two junior doctors who used to take notes and checks the patient. We showed her the previous reports and quoted her about our previous doctors(the doctor in blore) comment on a small complexity and her advise to take care of the situation. This doctor laughed at them telling that it is all normal and we need to take one more scan.
We trusted the doctor and went for a scan the next week. As I was not in town my wife went there with her mom and asked the receptionist about the radiology department where she can go for a scan and the receptionist seemed to be very confused on the terminology. Finally she showed the way and passed a harsh comment. There was no privacy in the scanning room and people(including the facilities people) used to roam here and there in the same room. The front desk ladies used to come and pass comments at the baby in womb.
My spouse was fed up and every time the date comes when she had to make a visit to the hospital for the next checkup she was worried. This repeated every now and then and one final day when she went to meet the doctor for a mild stomach pain, the doctor was very busy and doesnt even cared that she was her patient for past 3 months and passed a very dirty threatening comment. The next time my wife had to wait fr 2 to 3 hours after the appointment time and the doctor was entertaining medical reps while the patients who has taken appointments were waiting in the queue.y wife informed the front desk about this and then the doctor called her in and literally blasted on her with bad language which I cannot quote.
On that day we decided that we are never gonna visit that hospital again. Finally on her 7th month, we started consulting another hospital in cochin and to our surprise the patient care / doctor every one was so good and helpful in the new hospital in cochin. Now we are blessed with a baby boy thanks to my decision to shift from KIMS.
But the three months of consultation in KIMS was a big mistake for us!
