Before picking up kindle I use to read 6-7 books a year, but with kindle this changed for good. This year(March 2014-March2015) I have finished over 20 novels. It’s worth every penny I have invested in it. Not only it is portable, its optical beauty is truly amazing.
Pros:
Super lightweight, its only 170 grams, and can carry 50-60 books at a time, a big advantage over paperback.
E ink gives a feel of a real paper, unlike mobile or laptop screen Kindle is glare free.
I really don’t remember when the last time I have charged my kindle.
You can adjust the font type and size.
With the help of chrome extension you can transfer a long article to kindle and read it when you find time for it.
Built up dictionary is a life saver, it saves the hassle of opening Oxford dictionary every time you have to look for a word.
The rubber back is anti-slippery and the front is some kind of high end matte plastic.
Comes with cool features like Goodreads integration, vocabulary builder and you can share your highlights with your friends instantly.
CONS:
Do not support native language.
I personally prefer manual kindle over touchscreen one.
No backlight, so if the light gets darker you can’t read any more, but yeah, you can always opt for kindle paper white.
Experimental browser is not that good. Buy it if you are an avid reader and on a tight budget. This is a buying decision you will never regret, you can carry 40-50 books at a time, and read whatever suits your mood and looks are pretty good too.
