After a lot of thinking & re-thinking for almost 6 months, if I need to spend almost 14k on a reading device ( just to read book! ), I got Kindle Paper White ( Wifi+ 3G) yesterday.
The packing was very good with a lot of bubble wrap. The Kindle box was easy to open and inside it, was the device and a micro USB charging cable.
Please note that Amazon doesnt provide a wall charger. You have to buy it separately for another 1200 bucks.
But, I dont think it is necessary as you can use your laptop/ PC/ smart phone/ tablets wall unit. The device when switched on which takes a couple of minutes, automatically connects to available Wi-Fi network. If no Wi-Fi, it connects automatically to the 3G provided for FREE ( everyones favorite word! ).
But, 3G is comparatively slow than Wi-Fi. The physical features of the device is a slightly rough touch screen which is absolutely anti-glare as promised, a very smooth back cover, USB port for charging and transferring files and a multipurpose button ( On/Off, Lock/unlock Screen) . You have to register the device with your Amazon account which takes about 2-3 minutes depending on the connectivity. Once you connect, you are given a short walkthrough on how to use the device.
There is also a manual e-book. You can see all your books on the cloud. You can transfer them to your device using Sync and get going. Very simple and easy to use. I charged the batteries to full for two hours yesterday and till now, it has not drained a bit. My kid has read four comics till now.
