I bought Kindle Paperwhite Wifi during Amazon’s Diwali sale worth Rs. 7, 900 on discount. I think it’s the best purchase I’ve made this year. It was a constant hassle buying new books every so often and being unable to carry them everywhere while travelling. Kindle has made reading easier.
It uses an e-ink screen so you don’t have to face problems like glare while reading as the case with Tabs and computer screen. You can easily read in sunlight without glare. It also has an inbuilt led light to be able to read at night and in dark places. You don’t have to turn on the light to read books anymore. Another great feature in Paperwhite 2015 model is that it has a slightly yellowish tinge in the screen so your eyes don’t strain. I think that’s a brilliant upgrade from 2013 model.
You can buy books from the amazon site itself. Kindle only recognize .mobi and .azw files. You can’t read pdf or epub files on it. That’s one downside. Another drawback is it doesn’t support colored display. So if you want to read a graphic novel, it’d not be worth it. The screen could be bigger as well.
Overall, positives outweigh the negatives. Go for it.
