Hello my fellow MS homies!! after a long break, i decided to write a new review on Kinetic GF170.actually u guys may be wondering why the hell i’m writing a review on an absolutely market dumped off motorbike. The real reason is this.
on last sunday our family was invited for a wedding of one of our cousins.( we are having a very narrow relationship).but we went their.event was colourfully organized as the entire party was conducted outdoor.as the time pass, drunkers were grouped as several small gangs and started their normal routine while chicks and housewives were on thier own.
i was also joined by one of my younger brother, (he is a mr.bright student type of charecter).
i mean we had nothing in common plus we had absolutely nothing to discuss.so we both were like
statues.when I was thinking how to escape from this dud case, I heard a roaring coming from the road side. initially I thought it’s a exhaust modified pulsar or a 200cc honda baja.so I was like mmm..what we got here?
suddenly I saw one of my old school buddy on a red GF170 with his father was coming to the party.i was like BLIMEY!! for the love of god , u saved me!!.I mean I just ran towards the bike.I was so exited about the bike because it is so rare(i have only seen 3 bikes)and I even forgot to shake my old bud’s hand.
I immediatly grabed the key from him and jumped on to the bike. he shouted me "Ikmanata waren harida "(come immediatly..all right!!)
Actually that day this GF170 and my old buddy saved my entire 3 -4 hours. SO as a payback to this life-saver, I decided to write a review on that bike in my favourite time-pass spot(MS).
Seat positioning & comfort :- I felt seat is sort of hard and positioning of the seat is very high compared to it’s rivals.(i was even unable to touch the ground with my legs even thou i’m a "5-8" guy.but handle was neatly positioned.but surprisingly I noticed that handle grip is uncomfortable after 8-9 kms of riding.suspention system was surprisingly amazing that, at one point I felt that they have utilized the spring sus. system to near perfection.
overall designing :- I felt this is the most suitable tail light design for the TVS apache with several alterations.overallook wise it comes tow to tow with Italian bike designs.(it’s hard to describe in words).specially my friend has added a cat-feet and cosmetic plate to the wiser
area which really changed the bike into a living monstar.for the body design, according to my estimation have inherited it from yam FZR 250 series. ( graptor has also steal the side-look from fzr/tzr series.).i also think control panel of the GF series is stolen by the tvs fiero fx(Round light)
pickup & stability & weight :- for a 167cc bike it got a decent pickup among all the cogs.feature was it got a juisy mid range torque.other than that I felt it could marginaly beat a well maintained CBZ after 8500rpm.because the wedding was near a main army camp with several speed barriers I was afraid to test the limit of the bike.
brakes :- front disc brakes was impressive as it is the job of disc brakes.rear disc brakes was somewhat glitchey.but it will not let u down.but comparatively pulsar’s disc brake is much impressive than the GF170’s one.
exhaust note :- since my friend has altered the silencer (by braking several compartments)it had a sound which scares the hell out of the children and dogs.but my sister
later told me that it sounded like a "bell"helicopter with a drunken pilot on it.(i still dont know whether she insult my driving style or the bike)
these are quick observations I came through since I only had a chance to ride it for 30 minutes in a daylight.so I was unable to find out the headbulb quality and and fuel efficency.
according to my friend it gives him 42-50kmpl as it is only 8000kms old only.but still this bike is avaliable at the "SINGER" show rooms in sri lanka. ever since our cricketer sangakkara (gay type)was appointed as the brand promotion ambessedor for the kinetic bikes, sales figure was drasticaly reduced to hell.so without only focusing on marketing section, kinetic should improve their brand quality with good after sales service and they should focus to standup from their own.that will help to improve the product "kinetic" as a good brand in the market.
