*Please note: This is not Kinetic Honda as mentioned in the heading. This review about Kinetic Hyosung
After much hesitation, pros and cons, I bought this GF170(Year 2005), rode it by road to Hyderabad from Mumbai and was deeply and genuinely impressed by its untiring stamina, road grip, balance, power delivery, 5 Cogs and above all its tall gearing and to pull up in the 5th gear(at low speeds too0 without even going to low gears, this has impressed me. I am an die hard enthusiast and love touring by road, even with bigger bikes like the Ninja ZX12R, The most famous GL-500 Honda(V-twin, shaft drive) the Suzuki tempter(650cc parallel Twin) and Norton twins and singles I have toured by road, but very strange, nothing to beat the untiring 4 Valve stamina, multipoint electronic ignition, power, decent fuel economy of this 4 valve GF170.
The only minus point of this bike are the cycle parts mainly the(fuel tank) are of an inferior quality - for a 2005 year bike, the fuel tank got rotted with rust beyond recognition and fuel seeped through the fuel tap, the previous owner sealed it with Mseal, anyways, stars were in my favour, found a brand new fuel tank of the same colour in Bangalore, which my son sourced it there and brought it to Hyd. I installed a brand new rectifier and a new exide battery and serviced the speedo and the tacho meters. Disc brake is not so effective as todays bikes
I wonder why Kinetic have not continued this gem of a bike and it could easily compete with even todays bikes. I own HH Karizma, but the ride quality, minimum non-snatch speed in top gear, it macho beat and it can idle at as low as 500 RPM. Every meter of its ride I enjoy and use it on special occasions only. I wish they start the production of this beautiful looking babe once again.*
