This is my first review on mouthshut.com.
I moved to Bangalore recently and was having hard time with Auto wallas. Either they were not ready to come or they were charging a lot. Over that it was getting difficult to travel shorter distances... so we decided buy a scooter that has button start and auto gear.
First we searched for Honda Activa as many of friends and relatives recommended that vehicle. The waiting period for that was 60 days due to Diwali season. We were desperate to get something soon, so we decided to take a look at Kinetic Nova. I was impressed with the looks. Took a small test drive, handling was good.
We decided on buying this.
Vehicle Details:
I like the looks but the parts are very cheesy. Most of them made of cheap plastic. Pick up is ok but vehicle cant handle speeds more than 50 km, it feels as if it is vehicle is out of control. It is a week old vehicle and the brakes cable needs some tightening. Some times, it feels as if the brake cable is stuck. Mirrors are useless - I feel the dealer has not fixed them properly, I am not able to adjust them to view the rear vehicles. I can definitely see what is happening on the other side of the roads and roadside shops.
The other day when I was trying to park in a mall, it started making some wierd noise when ever I applied brake. After a while I realized that the starter button was struck. That shows the quality of vehicle. Foot mat was not fixed properly(it looks shape out), when I asked the dealer he said it will get ok after a while, it has gone worse now. Front storage space is literally useless, cant keep any thing and the plastic cover doesnt fit right.
I bought a helmet the other day and the shop owner mentioned that there is no helmet lock for this vehicle. I am not sure how true this is.
I have said lot of bad things, now few good things -
I like the looks better than Activa.
Good handling at speeds upto 40 km
Storage space below the seat is ample. I was able to keep a big size helmet easily.
Dealer:
Experience was both good and bad. He did not give me the Diwali deal that was going on. Infact he cheated me. I paid through credit card, so he told me that he will wave off the 2% charges. He infact did not wave it off, he used the 15 litre petrol Diwali deal for this but he showed as if he was doing me a favor. He should have mentioned that he wont be giving that deal. He did not even mention about it. It was when I asked later, he told me that.
Other than the cheating part, I dont they fixed the parts properly. Mirrors, foot mat...
Apart from these, the dealer was good in handling things, fast paper work, explaining the vehicle maintenance and stuff...
Hope that helps the prospective buyers...
