Wonder how it got the Awards!!

Its good to hear Kinetic again got the awards for a luxurious plastic stuff that may get fragmented on Indian road conditions well before warranty expires..and Please Don’t request warranty on the Nova...Nova is made of Plastic..and Kinetic gives warranty on engine only..that they sure its tested to last upto warranty!!




  1. Can the award winning Desiners of the Kinetic imagine how it look; ’Monalisa’ crying with open face and all 32 teeth shown!!! How can they repeate the same mistake that they already applied to the Kinetic DX; A bizzare looking diesel operated haller mill’s silensor hanging out on the open area at the right side of a sleek, beautiful, elegent and luxury looking vehicle. I would like to see a silensor of that ZX model in Nova...square, sleek and hided within the body.




  2. About the foot rest at the left side of the Nova...Mesh of rods peeping out from a luxury two wheeler just to hold a foot rest!! If the designers have finished with their own idea then they should have borrowed from 1960’s Bajaj 150 model!!




  3. About the road clearance. Kinetic is famous for their scooters; let it be ZX, ZX Zoom, DX etc...for thier extra ordinary suspenssion systems that give a comfort riding, and in this area all other brand are well behind..not even the high end bike give that comfort. For Nova, Kinetic declare the road clearance is 150 mm, but two person on it and on road it reduced to 80~90 mm..and a small hump or bump comes its way...TThhuuddd!!!! the stand base at the bottom plays a role of breaks!! One can guess how many days it will take to fragment this Luxurious Plastic Stuff !! that may be well within Kinetic’s warranty if one ride it within India!! No warranty if one ride it on the Indian National Supper Highway...for which it has been designed!!

Though Nova named ’’Scooter of the year’’ I find that the test teams ignored the following:




  1. Non-focussing of Headlight (Dipper)




  2. Ground clearance




  3. Position of seat




  4. No Option for side guard




  5. Poor design of Silensor






The headlight angle is improper. The main beam is parallel to the tarmac and goes waste, unless until it hits a wall where it really dazzels. The dipper brings up a ’’U’’ shaped light not useful at all. Can be improved...


Though ground clearance is 150 mm, turning angle is prohibitive. The centre stand should have been modified, something like the Bajaj/Vespa style. already discussed earlier. Should be modified to have a ground clearance of at least 180~190mm (That can be achieved) so that it can easily handle the Indian road conditions.


The seat is inclined a bit and while driving pulls the driver ahead so that he is always brought up to the edge of the seat. Pillion also becomes uncomfortable. Not a big problem...


Should have a option for the side guard for accidental security to the Plastic body with the folding foot rest for the pillion instead of the foot rest provided with the fixed rods. I would prefer the design of ZX instead.


The entire beauty of the Nova is killed by the shape and position of the Silensor and the left foot rest. In this area I would like to see the ZX again. As per the fuel efficiency..no matter..one ride a Kinetic scooter he knows the value for comfort..no bargain. 50 Kmpl is not that bad for a scooter that gives so much comfort.


With small modification with Nova..It will be the ’’Scooter Of The Year’’ !!!


Pros : Gives value for luxury


Cons: can be improved -- the look and road clearance
