To be honest with you folks, I never was interested in small cc vehicles. However, I?ve begun to think I might be wrong after I rode my new Kinetic Style.
Style isn?t a very heavy vehicle. Might be just about a 100kgs and after having ridden the Marvel for years, it feels extremely light. The promos promise an average of 50kmpl and after having driven it for over 4000 kms, I don?t think it?s a bluff.
The throttle is very responsive to touch, not at all like the Bajaj Spirit, which has to be coaxed to start moving. It?s a 75 cc vehicle and is not at all power-lacking. Speeds upto 70kmph are reachable and the engine hardly misfires. I haven?t noticed any knocking, even with the lead-free petrol. The vehicle gives a very smooth drive. the brakes, as I?ve noticed, are pretty good and even after having put it through a lot of hard times, I haven?t had a reason to get the brake liners changed.
The fuel tank has a 3litre+ capacity. The dashboard has a fuel indicator, which isn?t so reliable, but still eliminates the need for a reserve tank. The two-stroke engine is a huge improvement over other vehicles in its class and has separate inlets for oil and petrol. The old version, I think, had the oil inlet located in the front. The newer versions, the one which I have and the series 2000 one, has it integrated with the petrol inlet.
There is, however, a large room for improvement. The leg-space is inadequate and does not provide a lot of comfort. The seats are small too, but I guess that?s common to all the small vehicles similar to it. The position of the choke makes it irritating at times because it frequently grazes the fingers. The vehicle is not maintenance free, as I?ve noticed in other reviews. One part which gave me a lot of problems is the battery. The starter too, misfires a lot. The body is very fragile as compare to vehicles like the Scooty and the Spirit. The looks aren?t very appealing either. The rear-view mirror tends to disperse the images at the edges and you can?t leave the vehicle in a lot of heat or rain because the rubber linings get spoilt.
Overall, I?d give this vehicle a very good rating because it?s way ahead of other vehicles like it. The new Scooty Pep, however, is a pretty good choice too, as I?ve heard.
