I bought a Kinetic Flyte for my wife and for some occasional use by myself. My criteria for selecting a scooter was as follows
Should be easy to handle, since a lady is the prime user. Should have latest design and decent power to weight ratio. Last but not the least it should be good value for money. So I ventured out to find out what my choice should be.
I checked out honda bikes, activa was no no as it is too heavy and an old design, next in picture came the Dio, which my wife test rode, but it was a thumbs down, although honda has released the dio specifically for the reason that activa is heavy, dio does not achieve the object to totality.
The dio is still heavy, bulky for a lady driver and also very weird but the handling is not good, my wife struggled to drive on a straight line on a dio, and the driving posture was not good either. Next was Hero honda pleasure, well this was much better, with good handling, decent acceleration, and good comfort for a lady driver, so were considering this as an option.
Next came in suzuki access, well this was the best test drives, the pickup was amazing, however not very convinced about the design, nothing breakthrough about it, neither a galore of features. Only USP is good pickup, not good enough for the price and for the city I drive in Bangalore, So finally test drive a Flyte, reluctant since it is kinetic, although pioneers of the gearless scooters, but not doing great these days.
So kinetic flyte, looks quite attractive, no doubt the NID (National Institute of design) has awarded the best design to this scooter. Also with two best scooter of the year awards in a year it looked a good proposition. Now the test drive **1)Good pickup, took a test drive, the response of the engine was very good, not as good as access, but not bad either. 2) Very light to handle, my wife was very happy driving it
3) Galore of features and some free accessories come with it, that was good value.
4) The average is not 45 as claimed, I am getting about 37-38 but supposedly it would be better after first service.
5) And of course good attractive design
*For the objectives I had in mind I think flyte is the perfect fit, if you guys have similar objectives for a scooter, I would suggest without doubt Flyte today is the best choice
Cheers
