The King Of Tours is John Grisham’s 15th book, (out of 20). There are only two main characters in this book, Clay and Max, (the Fireman).

What is a tort? Torts are law suite.

What is a Fireman? A person who takes care of business, (for other people or companies), in an unethical way.

.:My Review:.

The novel begins when Clay Carter, is on a Carribean Cruise. He breaks off his romance with Rebecca, because her father doesn’t like him.

This book is about the two men, who work in the Office of the Public Defender, in Washington DC.

Clay is an African American, who has a group of people, (a class action suite), to file a suite, against a Pharmaceutical Company. They have been selling a defective product and claimed it was a wonder drug, that would help people with arthritics.

The side effects caused tumours, some turned to cancer, and one teenager went on a killing spree!

Max Pace is the lawyer who for the Pharmaceutical Company. Max tells Clay that the company will pay him $10, 000, 000.00 if he can settle with the family’s of the people who were murdered.

There is one condition, and that is, that this must be settle out of court, and no one, (especially the newspapers), should know about this deal.

While Clay is deciding what he should do, a friend tells him, ’’No one earns that much money in 6 months. You can win it, steal it, or it can drop out of the sky, but if this is a clean deal, no one can earn it!’’

Clay ignores his friend and decides to open his own office, (to handle the case). When the case is over he is payed over a hundred million dollars.

The press name him the king of torts. Of course there is more to the story, but you’ll have to read the book to find out what it is.

.:I Felt:.

I found it strange that on page 406, (in September, when Clay is at a trail, in Flagstaff, Arizona), Grisham writes, ’’ Flagstaff is 7, 000 feet above sea level, and the temperature was 105 degrees, and the highest recorded temperature, ever recorded was 97 degrees. Today, as I am typing this, in Flagsaff the temperature is 111 degrees.

I am a Grisham fan and this book did not flow as well as his other books did. There were a lot of errors in it.

The characters were developed well, the love scenes were like wham, bam, thank you Mam!

The moral of this book is you reap what you sow, so if you make money that way you become greedy and an unscrupulous lawyer.

.:My Conclusion:.

John Grisham should fire his editor, because this is the worst book, that he has written.

Money isn’t everything, but Grisham has become very rich, from spinning his tales of lawyers.

I’m glad I only paid $1.00 for this book at a garage sale.

I am giving this a 3 star rating, because it’s up to you if you want to read it or not.

Thank you for reading my review.
