I had to book two seats on a flight to Bangalore from Delhi. One of the passengers was a very senior citizen. I asked if they could give their much advertised senior citizens discount. The lady at customer care was very helpful and said for all senior citizen bookings I would need to go to their city office. They give a 50% discount for senior citizens. She then proceeded to tell me what the discounted price would be. Very nice of her, I thought.
She came back and quoted a discounted fare that was way higher than the normal ticket. So to get a senior citizens discount, I need to go all the way to their city office, then pay more than a normal ticket. This is a joke to play on senior citizens. imagine if I was a senior citizen and not realizing that thee fee was way higher I go all the way to the city office and there find out that I have to pay over a 1000 rupees to get the senior citizen discounted fare, this is atrocious.
Spare some people at least. In India we treat old people with respect. Is this respect?
No one asked Kingfisher to give discounts for senior citizens but when they did and then did it so horribly bad, I will desist from flying Kingfisher and tell my friends not to do so. I am a frequent flyer but will rip up my card for this kind of behavior.
