I have travelled to various destinations on Kingfisher . And the amazing thing is the consistency in the service across flights and airports . Even the telecheck-in experience has been terrific .
While most airline folks tend to quote their " company policy " as the reason why some request cannot be accommodated - Kingfisher representatives seem to have the training , empowerment and most importantly the attitude to do whatever is necessary for delighting the customer.
On one ocassion I was on the way to the airport for a 7 am flight . There are 4 of us travelling together on that flight . But we were getting to the airport from different locations . I had called the tele-checkin number to telecheckin all 4 of us . At first the person who answered the call said that normally telecheck-in can be done only prior to 1 hour before the flight . I mentioned to him that it would have been nice if the telecheckin could be done since all 4 were coming to the airport from different locations . And that it would be impossible to co-ordinate at the airport and get seats together. Having had this sort of response earlier from Jet , Indian Airlines etc I was about to disconnect saying ok I understand that you cant do it . He asked me to hold on and he called the airport counter and did the telecheckin ! I cant think of any airline that would have done it .
Overall the most thoughtful , intelligent service in Indian aviation today .
