Hi all, I am writing this review after using the airline for a dozen times in last 3 years. I have traveled on Air India, Indigo, Spice jet, Go air, Jet Lite and Jet airways. Worst among them is Go air. Now generally the price of the ticket for kingfisher is very high (around Rs1000 more than Low cost carriers) but sometimes you get chance to buy a ticket for very good price (only couple of 100 more in price).
Service is very good with check-in and food being the best part of the airline.I have traveled more than 36 times in last 3 years and no airline come close to the food kingfisher offers.Jet is good but not awesome and don’t even ask about Air India (once they were finished with veg food before half the plane was served).
Now let us start from arriving at airport.Most of the time a kingfisher porter will be there on airport and will take your luggage for check-in and they don’t even take any tips. no other airline offer this service.Check-in service is equal to Jet but I have gold membership so I get to check-in with first class passenger. Nothing out of ordinary here expect they allow 25 kg instead of 20Kg which LCC and jet allows.
Food is the best among all the airline even among the ones which offer food for money. No competition here. Seating space is best in a airbus which is used by Kingfisher. I tend to dislike Boeing planes on domestic routes because of less space. But it does not matter in a 3 hour flight. Punctuality is decent. All the time I have reached destination within one hour of arrival time. Once I reached Delhi airport 2 hours late because of air congestion. Missed my train that day. But that was during dark days of serious congestion at Delhi and Mumbai airport.Since I am gold class member I get to take 25 kg luggage extra which is very helpful in bringing extra luggage from my home town.
They are also lenient about extra luggage then spice jet who made me pay for 3 kg extra. Luggage arrival time is within 5 - 20 minutes. Most of the time I got my luggage in 10 minutes. This is one the best airline to fly on Bangalore - Jaipur route (via Mumbai). Food is served twice. It is a good dinner. Since most of the time food is different on both flightI would recommend Kingfisher who does not mind paying few extra bucks for good service.Also to people who are cost conscious when the fare difference is under Rs 500 between kingfisher and LCC. They have a very good membership rewards point system, You get 500 points for booking ticket directly from them and 250 points for online checking.It is like getting 1500 points per Bangalore- Jaipur flight.Bangalore - Trivandrum costs around 5000 points which is pretty good.I hope people find the review useful.
